More about Daniel Ryan

I think I’m still in the process of figuring out my style. I probably have a tendency to write certain kinds of poems in a certain manner and this most likely amounts to a style. I swing between the absurd, the almost journalistic, the romantic and the experimental. Sometimes I like my poems to be about things and to have feeling, and sometimes I don’t. I reckon I’m still in a prolonged period of discovery. I struggle with my own automatic tendencies when it comes to poetry. I suppose I’m still trying to unlearn some dirty habits I picked up, or created for myself along the way. I’d like to have a style that’s consistent, fluid, definitive, ever-evolving.
