A barman philosopher, marathon runner and, as he describes himself 'the arch bollocks'. Eugene is the 6th generation in his family to run The Gravediggers in Glasnevin, and he's steered it through a lot of tough times. Here he talks about his life, the values he's earned through struggle, and his amazing running career.

The Gravediggers' is the oldest family run pub in Dublin, dating back to 1833. John Kavanagh was the original owner, and it opened one year after Glasnevin Cemetery. The pub's real name is 'John Kavanagh's' but it's location has led to it being christened 'Gravediggers'. As a perfectly preserved old Dublin pub, it's been used in a variety of films and ads, including Quackser Fortune with Gene Wilder.
