Fr Pat Noise

Jane Cassidy
O Connell Bridge

Jane Cassidy tells the funny and peculiar story of Fr Pat Noise, for whom there's a plaque on O' Connel Bridge. The story behind it is one of Ireland's stupidity, ineptitude and love of a good joke.

More about O Connell Bridge

O'Connell Bridge is unique in Europe as the only bridge as long as it is wide. The original bridge, narrower, was designed by James Gandon in 1794. Oddly enough there are two O' Connell bridges in the city, the other is across a pond in Stephen's Green park.
