Huguenot Cemetery
Jean Pitton
Merrion Row
Tucked away at the corner of Stephen's Green, closed off to the public, is a 300 year old cemetery. It's one of the many small traces left of the Huguenot's, French refugees that reached Dublin in several waves of emigration

More about Merrion Row
Until Jean Pitton had restored this cemetery, it had fallen into serious disrepair. As it is rarely opened to the public, it's gathered a sense of mystery within the city - especially as it's located in such an affluent area. Another famous family that are buried there are the Becquett family, from whom Samuel Beckett is descended.
