More about The Gaiety

Opened in 1871, the Gaiety theatre is known as 'The Grand Old lady of South King Street'. It has held performances by a long array of internationally renowned artists, but in Dublin it's probably best known for its christmas pantomimes. Some of the interior was re-painted by Brendan Behan, when he worked as a painter for hire. On one occasion, while painting high up, he tipped an entire can of paint on top of a spoiled child who was acting up during rehearsals. http://www.gaietytheatre.ie/
